Tropical flowers

Tropical flowersIn the United States, tropical flowers can be found in the majestic state of Hawaii. There are countless species of tropical flowers that can be found in Hawaii, and they grow blooms that come in many sizes, shapes, and colors.

Some of the most popular types of flowers that are associated with the Hawaiian region are anthuriums. Anthuriums have been growing in Hawaii for years, and many people seem to be under the impression that these unusual blooms are native to the American islands. However, this is just not true. Anthuriums were introduced into the region in the 1880s, and are actually native to rainforests in other parts of the world. Regardless of this fact, these vibrant plastic like blooms are still considered, by a great number of people, to be a native plant to the Hawaiian Islands.

Another beautiful, exotic flower native to Hawaii is the bird of paradise. This unique plant was named for its striking blossoms. These blossoms are often bright orange or yellow and have a distinctive shape that resembles a bird. But the bloom is not its only interesting point–unlike most flower species the birds of paradise blooms do not give off any sort of a scent or smell.

Costa Rica is another popular region in the world for the growth and enjoyment of tropical flowers. Heliconia is a genus of flowers that is native to the area of Costa Rica. This genus contains over one hundred species of flowers. The species of the heliconia genus include the beautiful flowers of the plantain plant, the lobster claw, and a flowering plant whick is similar to the birds of paradise. Most plants of the heliconia genus boast an array of remarkable blooms in various colors and shapes. The flowers are often rich in nectar and a great source of food for humming birds.

Another plant that is native to the tropical Americas is the ornamental banana. Ornamental bananas, also called musas, have a selection of interesting flowers in different colors and sizes. These plants are taller than most other blossoming plants and often grow to an excess of eight feet tall. The most sought after ornamental banana plant has a striking bloom of bright orange with vibrant yellow tips. Blooms on these plants can also be found growing in the colors of purple, orange, red, and blue.

In Brazil tropical flowers tend to grow best in the humid conditions of the rainforest. The copper leaf is one of Brazil’s most unusual flowers. It loves humidity, warm temperature, and light. In fact, the plants blooms increase depending on how much light it receives. Because of their uncanny ability to react to light, a copper leaf flower is a fun and vibrant tropical flower purchase.
